Community Giving Program
Running payroll should give something back.
Pillar puts a piece of its own revenue into a community giving pool, then gives that pool to one local charity at a time. You don't donate anything. You just let us look at your payroll.
How it works
Two ways payroll turns into giving.
01
$1.00 per employee
Every payroll review gives back
Send us your current payroll and we contribute $1.00 for every employee on it — whether or not you ever become a client. No purchase, no commitment, no catch.
02
2% of payroll revenue
Every new client keeps giving
When a business starts payroll with us, 2% of the payroll service revenue that account generates goes into the giving pool — for the lifetime of the account.
The program is open to New York businesses, and the giving pool is handed to a new charity partner each quarter.
Our first charity partner
Ten Lives Club
Ten Lives Club is a Western New York no-kill rescue that takes in cats and kittens nobody else will take, gets them healthy, and finds them homes. They cover veterinary care, spay and neuter, vaccinations, food, and shelter for animals that often arrive in rough shape.
Every payroll review we run and every new client we onboard during this giving period sends money straight to that work. A single payroll review for a twenty-person company puts a few bags of cat food on the shelves. A new client keeps contributing every month, for as long as they're with us.
Our commitments
- Every dollar is funded by us, out of our own revenue.
- Nothing is added to your invoice and nothing is taken from employee pay.
- Your pricing, your price lock, and your service level are never affected.
- We publish who we're giving to and what the program has generated.
Are you a 501(c)(3) organization in New York that would like to be a future partner? Reach out and tell us about your work.

Send us your payroll. We'll send money to the shelter.
A payroll review costs you nothing, takes a few minutes, and generates a donation either way. You also get an honest number to compare against what you're paying now.
